If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation and looking for a character dining experience that’s equal parts delicious, relaxed, and magical, let me introduce you to our #1 favorite character breakfast at Disney World: Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, located at Disney’s stunning Riviera Resort.

As a Disney travel advisor and mom of two, I’ve experienced a wide range of dining options across the parks and resorts. Out of the 13 character dining experiences currently offered at Walt Disney World, we’ve checked off 8 so far, and Topolino’s Terrace: Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends is the one we always recommend first to our clients with kids.

Why Topolino’s Terrace Stands Out from the Rest

From the moment you step off the elevator onto the 10th floor of Disney’s Riviera Resort, you’re met with elegance, incredible views, and an upscale-but-kid-friendly atmosphere. The name “Topolino” is the Italian word for Mickey Mouse, fitting for a breakfast that features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy in adorable artist-themed outfits.

Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, this character meal checks every box: fantastic food, seamless character interactions, and a relaxing setting that helps you soak in the final magical moments of your Disney vacation.

The Food: Elevated, Delicious & Family-Friendly

Unlike many other character meals, Topolino’s is not a buffet, which makes the experience so much smoother, especially when you have toddlers in tow. No juggling plates or worrying about missing characters while in line!

Here’s what we loved:

  • Welcome Pastry Basket with rich spreads and fresh croissants

  • POG Juice (POG = Passionfruit-Orange-Guava), a must-try Disney favorite

  • Mickey Waffle Dippers for the kids, an instant hit with our girls

  • Wood-fired Steak & Eggs for the adults: generous, flavorful, and filling

  • Quiche Gruyère: another crowd favorite at our table

Pro tip: It’s a prix fixe menu, so don’t be afraid to splurge. Portions are large, and we even saved some leftovers for lunch on the road!

The Characters: Mickey & Friends Like You’ve Never Seen Them

This isn’t your average meet-and-greet. During our breakfast, we got to meet:

  • Mickey the Painter

  • Minnie the Poet

  • Daisy the Dancer

  • Donald the Sculptor

Each character took their time at our table, dancing, posing for photos, and creating special moments for our girls without rushing at all, which can be the worst part of character dining from our experience. Halfway through the meal, the music shifted and the characters danced around the restaurant waving to kids. Cue the biggest smiles of the trip!

And because it’s table service and not a buffet like so many other character dining experiences, you’re never worried about missing a character or leaving your seat. Everything about the pace is calm, smooth, and magical.

The Views: Don’t Miss the Terrace!

After your meal, don’t rush off! Head outside to the Riviera’s rooftop terrace to take in breathtaking views of EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and the Disney Skyliner gliding past. It’s a perfect spot for final vacation photos and a moment to reflect on your time at Disney before heading home or onto the parks for one more day of fun.

We ended our trip with a slow morning here before packing up at Fort Wilderness and beginning our long drive back to North Carolina. It was the perfect way to wrap up our vacation.
