Character meet-and-greets are a core memory for so many Disney fans, including me! I still remember racing through the parks as a teenager, autograph book in hand, tracking down every character I could find. Now, as a Disney travel advisor and mom of two, I get to watch my daughters light up during those same special moments. And let me tell you… there are so many creative ways to make those memories last forever beyond the traditional autograph book!

Whether it’s your first trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, or even Disneyland Paris, this list of Disney autograph keepsake ideas will help you choose the perfect way to capture the magic.

Ready to plan your own Disney trip filled with magical meet-and-greets? Let’s book your dream Disney vacation! As a Disney travel expert, I’ll help you every step of the way, including tips like these to make your trip unforgettable.

1. Classic Disney Autograph Book (With a Personal Twist)

We started our girls' Disney adventures with the traditional autograph book, just like I had growing up! It’s simple, affordable, and available at the parks or online. For a fun upgrade, order a personalized version on Etsy or Amazon to make it extra special.

2. Autograph’ed Water Bottles

One of our favorite keepsakes ever! Nana gifted our daughters custom water bottles with Cricut-designed Minnie ears, and we brought paint pens for the characters to sign them. Just remember to empty the bottle before signing (characters will not sign if they are full!) and seal the designs at home to keep them looking new! Almost a year later, it’s still Lowina’s go-to water bottle for school.

Travel Agent Tip: Use oil-based paint pens and a clear sealer spray when you get home to make it last.

3. Autograph Photo Mats for Framing Character Memories

This is what we’re doing for our upcoming Disneyland Paris trip, and I couldn’t be more excited! Have characters sign white photo mats around a picture slot, then frame it with a park photo when you get home. It's timeless, easy to pack, and makes the perfect bedroom or hallway display.

Pro Tip: If using a canvas mat, lightly iron it after your trip to keep colors fresh and set.

4. Holiday Ornaments with Disney Signatures

Bring the magic home for the holidays! Clear or ceramic ornaments are perfect for signatures and can be sealed for long-term display on your Christmas tree. We love decorating with ornaments from our travels, and Disney ones are always the most cherished. For the Disney & holiday fanatics, here is an awesome tutorial on how to showcase your Disney signatures using holiday ornaments.

5. Disney Books and Bedtime Stories

Turn your favorite storybooks into magical souvenirs. We’re planning to bring the 5-Minute Disney Bedtime Stories on a future trip to get autographs from the characters in the stories. You can also use a Disney encyclopedia or character guide and add signatures trip after trip, just don’t forget to date them!

6. Autograph Tote Bags or Bookbags

While our girls aren’t quite into bags yet, I know we’ll be jumping on this idea soon. Characters can sign fabric bags with fabric markers, and your child will have a functional, magical memento they can take to school or use for years. If you’re ready for this, check out this blog that showcases the best way to make this happen!

7. Photo or Coloring Books with Character Signatures

Bring along a custom photo book of previous Disney visits or even a coloring book from the parks. We purchased the Chef Mickey’s Coloring Book on our first trip. Great for combining dinner fun with character autographs! These are especially great for toddlers who love engaging with familiar characters on the page.

8. Mugs for Coffee-Loving Parents

Travel mugs, ceramic mugs, or even tumblers can be great signature keepsakes! Have your favorite characters sign a mug at breakfast or meet-and-greets, and seal it once home. It’s the perfect way to enjoy your morning coffee with a side of Disney magic.

9. T-Shirts, Hats, or Plates

Want something wearable or display-worthy? Have characters sign a blank T-shirt, ball cap, or even a decorative plate. Just remember: characters won’t sign anything you're wearing, so always bring it in your bag!

Packing Tip: Wrap fragile items like plates in bubble wrap or soft clothing so they stay safe as you make your way through the parks and on your return home!
