When it comes to Disney vacations, some experiences add that extra sprinkle of magic. For us, dessert parties are one of the biggest ones! Disneyland California offers unique opportunities to enjoy reserved viewing of parades and shows while indulging in themed sweet treats. For families who want to skip the stress of saving a spot and instead enjoy a little luxury, dessert parties are worth every penny.
Today, I’m sharing everything you need to know about dessert parties at Disneyland California, plus our favorites: the World of Color Nighttime Show in Disney’s California Adventure Park and the 70th Anniversary “Better Together” Daytime Parade Dessert Party also in Disney’s California Adventure Park.
What is a Disneyland Dessert Party?
A dessert party at Disneyland is a separately ticketed event that gives you:
Reserved seating (no need to stake out a spot hours in advance!)
A plate of desserts and drinks (alcoholic beverages available for adults, non-alcoholic options for kids)
The best views in the park of nighttime spectaculars or parades
They’re ideal for families who want to combine a sweet treat with convenience and comfort (plus no fighting the crowds!).
Why We Love Them
No Stress: Say goodbye to camping out hours before showtime.
Exclusive Views: Enjoy front-row seats to the magic.
Extra Magic: Disney-themed desserts and drinks add to the celebration.
Our Favorite Disneyland Dessert Parties
During our summer 2025 visit to Disneyland, we had limited time as we were squeezing Disneyland into our jam packed 6-week cross country itinerary, so we opted to do both of the dessert parties below in the same day while visiting Disney’s California Adventure Park. Our girls loved the VIP feel and the splurge, and we loved some time to sit away from the crowds & relax during our full day from rope drop to nighttime fireworks in the park!
1. World of Color Dessert Party
The World of Color nighttime spectacular at Disney’s California Adventure Park is already breathtaking, but the dessert party takes it to the next level.
Why We Love It:
Reserved seating at tables (a rarity for Disneyland shows!)
A tray filled with sweet and savory bites (think mini cheesecakes, macarons, cheeses, and crackers)
Signature drinks for adults and themed mocktails for kids
The perfect view of fountains, lights, projections, and music that make World of Color unforgettable
Pro Tip: Book this one as early as possible. Seats are limited and sell out quickly!
2. 70th Anniversary “Better Together” Daytime Parade Dessert Party
This new, limited-time offering celebrates Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary with a dessert party set to the upbeat and colorful Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade.
Why We Love It:
Comfortable reserved seating along the parade route (no pushing through crowds!)
A fun daytime option that’s perfect for families with younger kids who might not stay up late
Sweet and savory treats with playful, Pixar-inspired touches
Fantastic views of characters like Joy, Miguel, Woody, Buzz, and other Pixar friends dancing down the street
Pro Tip: Consider booking a parade dessert party on a day you don’t plan to stay in the parks until midnight. It gives you the “VIP” experience without exhausting little ones.
Other Dessert Party Options at Disneyland
While the World of Color and Better Together Parade parties are our top picks, there are a few more dessert parties offered seasonally or during special celebrations:
Fantasmic! Dessert Party at Disneyland Park
When Fantasmic! is running, Disneyland Park often offers a dessert package with reserved seating along the Rivers of America. Guests receive a tray of themed desserts and drinks while enjoying Mickey’s battle against villains in this fan-favorite nighttime spectacular.
Note: Fantasmic! is currently on a hiatus, but check the Disneyland calendar for its return and possible dessert party offerings.
Fireworks Dessert Party at Disneyland Park
During certain times of the year, Disneyland hosts dessert parties with reserved viewing for nighttime fireworks shows. These may take place at Tomorrowland Terrace or other select spots and typically include a mix of cupcakes, fruit, and sparkling beverages. These are perfect if fireworks are a must-do for your trip and you want a comfy place to enjoy them without the crowds.
Oogie Boogie Bash Treat Trails at Disney California Adventure
Not a “traditional” dessert party, but worth mentioning! During the separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween party, guests get to experience immersive treat trails with unlimited candy and snacks, plus exclusive entertainment. While not a reserved seating event, it has the same “indulge in Disney treats + entertainment” feel as dessert parties.
Holiday-Themed Dessert Parties
Around the holidays, Disneyland often introduces seasonal dessert parties tied to parades or nighttime shows. These festive events typically include hot cocoa, holiday-inspired treats, and special viewing areas for parades like A Christmas Fantasy Parade or fireworks shows.
Are Disneyland Dessert Parties Worth It?
If you’re traveling with kids, celebrating a special occasion, or just want to treat yourself, dessert parties are absolutely worth it. They save time, guarantee incredible views, and make the experience feel extra magical.
For us, the World of Color Dessert Party is the ultimate splurge-worthy event, and the 70th Anniversary “Better Together” Parade Dessert Party is a joyful, family-friendly favorite.
Tips for Booking Disneyland Dessert Parties
Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance on the Disneyland app or website.
Plan dessert parties on days you’ll already be in the parks late or want a more relaxed experience.
Arrive 30–45 minutes early to check in, get your wristbands, and settle in for the best seats.
Disneyland dessert parties are a little bit of indulgence mixed with a lot of magic. Whether you’re mesmerized by the fountains and lights of World of Color or celebrating Disneyland’s 70th with Pixar pals in the Better Together parade, these experiences make for unforgettable family memories.
After all, sometimes the sweetest way to enjoy the magic is with dessert in hand and the best seat in the house.
