  • Morning: Start your day with breakfast from Mr. J’s Bagels & Deli in Harrisonburg (grab-and-go or delivery via UberEats for a cozy start).

  • Late Morning: Stretch your legs on the Massanutten Ridge Trail, where wildflowers are often in bloom this time of year. Or, visit a nearby farm such as White Oak Lavender Farm for flower picking, vibrant photo ops, and lavender-infused treats like ice cream or tea.

  • Afternoon: Head to the Family Adventure Park for gem mining, ziplining, and inflatable slides… perfect for shaking off winter’s chill.

  • Evening: Wrap up your day with live music at a local brewery like Cave Hill Farms Brewery. Prefer more family fun? Play a round of mini-golf or race go-karts at the Village Entertainment Center, where spring evenings are crisp and perfect for outdoor play.

Sunday

  • Morning: Take a scenic chairlift ride to soak in the fresh greenery of the mountains, or hit the trails for some mountain biking.

  • Afternoon: Head to the Family Adventure Park for summer tubing thrills, then stop by the petting zoo for some up-close animal encounters or saddle up for a horse or pony ride. If you prefer to unwind, relax at one of the resort’s outdoor pools.

  • Evening: Dine at Base Camp with live music, and linger outside for sunset over the mountains.

Sunday

  • Morning: Tee off with a round of golf or try fling golf on the resort course before the midday heat.

  • Late Morning: Beat the summer sun with indoor fun: bowling, arcade games, or testing your skills in an escape room.

  • Midday: Lace up for a hike along Skyline Drive or venture to Reddish Knob for sweeping foliage views. Fall festivals and roadside farm stands often pop up along the way. It’s perfect for seasonal snacks and souvenirs.

  • Afternoon: Return to the resort for wine and live music, or stop by a local brewery like BrewHaha Brewing Company for a fall seasonal release like pumpkin ale or spiced cider.

Winter at Massanutten Resort — Snowy Fun & Cozy Nights

Winter turns Massanutten Resort into a Virginia ski destination with 14 slopes, snow tubing, ice skating, and an indoor waterpark for non-skiers. The cozy mountain setting makes it perfect for both adventure and relaxation.

Winter Weekend Itinerary (December–February)

Friday

  • Evening: Arrive and settle into your lodging, then savor a delicious dinner at Splash’s to fuel up for the weekend ahead. Afterward, bundle up and step outside to experience Light Up the Park! at the Outdoor Waterpark where twinkling lights, holiday displays, and a magical winter atmosphere are the perfect way to kick off your getaway. Warm up afterward with a cup of hot cocoa by the fire pit.

Saturday

  • Morning: Hit the slopes early, starting with a ski or snowboard lesson if you’d like a few extra tips before tackling the runs.

  • Afternoon: Keep the adrenaline going with more time on the slopes, try snow tubing at the Family Adventure Park, or swap your snow gear for swimsuits and head to the Indoor Waterpark for a toasty break from the cold.

  • Evening: Enjoy a hearty dinner at Base Camp, then cap off the night with Northern Lights Tubing beneath a glittering starry sky. If you’re still in the mood for fun, stop by one of the resort lounges for live music or après-ski cocktails.

Sunday
